How does it charge if it doesn't have batteries?
Porta recharges with ambient room light, even if it's dim. It doesn't need direct sunlight or a nearby window.
The energy it stores allows it to continue operating for several days in complete darkness.
Does it work on its own, or do I need another device?
Porta is an accessory of the Cuby ecosystem, so it needs a Cuby Terra, Cuby G4 or a Cuby Aria thermostat to function.
These are the devices that control the air conditioning and receive the signal from Porta when the door opens or closes.
Do I need a technician to install it?
No. It links from the Cuby app, the double-sided tape is removed, and it's stuck to the door or window frame. Installation takes less than a minute and requires no tools.
Can I put multiple Portas with a single Cuby?
Yes, it's possible for 2 or more Cubys to share 1 or more Porta sensors, as the maximum number of sensors (Porta, Sentry, or Bee) that can be monitored with a Cuby is 20.
What's the difference between the Bee sensor and the Porta sensor?
Both perform the same function: they turn off the air conditioner when a door or window is opened to avoid wasting energy. The difference is in the power supply.
